Milan Design Week 2026: innovation & long-standing collaborations
Milan Design Week 2026: heritage, innovation & long-standing collaborations
During our visit to Milan, where we spent time with our long-standing partners in the beautiful Brera district and visited The Salone del Mobile, we were once again reminded of what Stock Dutch Design has stood for for many years: layered interiors with character and enduring relationships.
For us, design goes far beyond discovering new collections. It is about heritage, craftsmanship, trust and continuously creating future proof interiors filled with colour and personality.
Long-Standing Collaborations
One of the highlights during this year’s Milan Design Week was our visit to Moroso, where we once again spent time with Patricia Moroso and her wonderful team, with whom we have been working closely for more than twenty years.
We extensively discussed the latest collections, innovative materials, new combinations and developments within the collection. These long-standing collaborations are an essential part of what high-end interior design means to us.
In a world where trends move faster than ever, we strongly believe in collections and collaborations that evolve over time without losing their identity. To us, this is the true essence of heritage in interior design.
Revisiting Iconic Collections
Alongside discovering new launches, we also visited many of our other trusted brands and partners. Even though many of these collections are already part of our projects and showroom, it remains incredibly inspiring to see how brands continue to present themselves in a new way during Milan Design Week.
The way materials, colors, patterns and textures are showcased demonstrates how interiors are becoming increasingly layered and personal. Layered interiors continue to play an important role within high-end interior design, where tactility, craftsmanship and sophisticated colour palettes take centre stage.
Milan once again confirmed for us that expressive interiors filled with color and character are becoming increasingly relevant within the international design world.
Discovering New Materials & Future Proof Design
During two inspiring days at Salone del Mobile, we explored new developments in sanitary design, tiles, lighting, innovative materials, sustainable applications and future proof interiors.
What stood out most was the strong focus on rich materiality, sculptural forms and natural color combinations. The balance between heritage and innovation remains essential within contemporary interior design.
More and more brands are searching for ways to combine timeless quality with sustainability and longevity, which perfectly aligns with our own vision. We do not necessarily believe in luxury for the sake of luxury. For us, the true value of an interior lies in comfort, atmosphere and creating a home that genuinely suits the family living in it. That may result in a luxurious interior, but comfort and personality always come first.
Colors, Patterns & Interiors with Personality
Perhaps the most inspiring development during this edition of Milan Design Week was the clear return of color, patterns and interiors with character. After years of predominantly neutral and minimal interiors, we are once again seeing space for deeper colour palettes, rich fabrics, layered materials, artistic patterns and personal statements. This evolution perfectly reflects our design philosophy: creating high-end interiors filled with emotion, tension and character.
Looking Ahead
We are already looking forward to incorporating the newly selected pieces, materials and inspiration into our upcoming projects.
Milan Design Week 2026 once again confirmed that timeless interiors are not created through trends alone, but through vision, craftsmanship and spaces that dare to express personality.
In January, we will travel to Paris with our entire team, where we will continue to share inspiration and highlights from another inspiring design journey.
